Monster Bash Next Weekend!

It’s been three years since our last Spring Monster Bash Conference, and we are so excited to make our return next weekend. The show takes place in Mars, PA, from June 24th to the 26th, with movies showing all weekend until the wee hours of the morning. Plus, you have guests like Caroline Munro, Patrick Wayne, Beverly Washburn, and more. Not to mention plenty of Q&As, seminars as well. Lastly, I would say that this show has one of the best dealer rooms around. I am always finding some great stuff here at the Bash. While the show focuses on classic horror, you just never know what you can find perusing the different vendors. In other words, there is more than enough fun to be had while you’re here.

My wife and I will be set up there as usual, so if you’re heading out, make sure you stop by and say hello! For all the updated information about the show, the guests, the schedule, and all the great films they’re screening, head over to their website HERE.

Movie Review: Spider Baby

(1968)
Directed by Jack Hill
Starring Lon Chaney Jr., Carol Ohmart, Quinn K. Redeker, Beverly Washburn, Jill Banner, Sid Haig, Mary Mitchel, Karl Schanzer, Mantan Moreland

The first time I saw this film was on a shitty VHS bootleg that was barely watchable. This was still years away before it would released on laserdisc and VHS, and eventually DVD and Blu-ray. But even watching the grainy print on video, you could see something special in this strange movie. Thankfully we don’t need to worry about bootlegs anymore since there have been a couple of different special edition Blu-ray releases by now. How great to be a movie fan these days. Continue reading

Now that Cinevent is in the books, lets look ahead to our next two shows coming up real soon.

Next month we head to Mars, PA, once again for the Monster Bash. Damn, do I just love this show. They have a great guest lineup this year, including Ricou Browning, the last living classic Universal monster! Their other guests include: Beverly Washburn, Martine Beswicke, Veronica Carlson, Christopher Neame, Sharyn Moffett, Cortlandt Hull, Kris Yeaworth, Tom Savini, and John Russo. They also have a few notable authors there, another reason I love this show, such as Troy Howarth, Frank Dello Stritto, Tom Weaver, Gregory Mank, Deborah Painter, and Robert Michael Cotter.
