Starting next Friday, Aug. 5th to the 7th, you’ll want to run off to Flashback Weekend that is taking place in Rosemont, IL, at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. As always, they have a HUGE guest list, but if you’re a fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street films, then you don’t want to miss this one, since they have 10 guests from the series, including Freddy himself, Robert Englund! But there are plenty of other guests as well, such as director Steven Miner, who not only directed the second and third entries in the Friday the 13th films, but also directed House, H20, and Lake Placid, just to name a few. Then we have Alex Winter from Bill & Ted and Lost Boys, Brad Loree, Tom Jones Jr., P.J. Soles and John Michael Graham (Lynda & Bob) from the Halloween series, and so many more.

Of course, as always, we will be vending there, as we have been since their very first show back in 2002! We’ve always had a blast here, and even better since it’s sort of in our backyard! My wife (aka Horror Slave) be there with her usual array of tote bags, pillows and other interesting things, while I will continue to try and educate the fans by offering up some interesting books on the horror genre. Always something new and interesting to learn about our favorite film genre just by opening a book! Of course, we’ll also have copies of my own book, Discover the Horror, for sale, which I will, of course, sign for free!
In fact, our good friend and author Gavin Schmitt will be at our table throughout the show, willing and able to sign copies of his new book, Karl Freund: The Life and Films, that we will have on our table. We only have a limited supply of these so if you’re interested, make sure you stop by early!
So, make sure you come on out of a great weekend of fun and horror! It’s always a great time at Flashback and even better when you can be around plenty of other like-minded horror fans. I mean, chatting about horror movies all weekend? What could be better???
