Stephen King CD Collection!

If you’re a fan of Stephen King and love soundtracks, then you are probably going to love this bit of news. Varèse Sarabande Records has announced an 8-CD set that has the soundtracks for four of King’s films. They are:

Dreamcatcher (2003) – Composer James Newton Howard’s score on 2-CDs
Firestarter (1984) – Tangerine Dream
The Stand (1994) – Composer W.G. Snuffy Walden’s score on 2-CDs
The Shining (1997) – Composer Nicholas Pike’s score on 3-CDs

Walden’s score for The Stand earned him an Emmy nomination for his work. Tangerine Dream’s score for Firestarter is being reissued for the first time in 15 years. And Pike’s score is being released for the first time on this 3-disc set, for the 3-part mini-series, The Shining, 1 disc for each of the 3 parts.

The set also contains a 24-page booklet that features liner notes by Randall D. Larson, with original art by Shawn Conn.

The release is limited to only 1500 units and retails for $89.98, and is available now through Varèse Sarabande Records website HERE.
