Woman in Black – Wild Claw Style

Chicago’s own Wild Claw Theatre’s first play of the 2017 season is going to be their adaptation of Susan Hill’s novel The Woman In Black, which came out in 1983. A few years later, in 1987, it was adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt and became so successful that it has become one of the longest running plays in London’s famous West End. It was made into a made-for-TV movie for 1989, and later made into a feature film by none other than Hammer Films in 2012.

While Mallatratt’s adaptation is a bit different from the movie versions, I’m sure it will give the audience some chills before the show is over. It is one of my favorite British ghost story movies so I can wait to see this adaptation. And since it’s coming from our friends at Wild Claw, I know it will be worth the trip into the city!

But now it comes to Chicago, to The Den Theatre, located at 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave, Chicago IL 60622. The show opens on March 24th and runs through April 23rd. Tickets are only $25. For more information about this show, and about Wild Claw Theatre, just click HERE.
