Super Monster Movie Fest #5

skyline monster fest 2016

The Skyline Drive-In in Shelbyville, Indiana, which is about 30 minutes southeast of Indianpolis, has just announced their lineup for this year’s Super Monster Movie Fest. This will be there fifth year doing this, and I an proudly say that I’ve been to two out of the four so far, and am planning to be back there for this one.

This year’s theme is Don’t Go in the House! That’s right…Haunted House Movies! This has always been one of my favorite sub-genres, so I’m very excited about this line up. They have a great mixture of both old and new titles that are sure to appease every horror fan out there. Here are the titles they have announced for Friday and Saturday. These are not in the order they will be screening, since that has not been annouced just yet, but in order by date. But just take a look at these great freatures that will be screening!

Friday, Aug. 26th

Hold that Ghost (1941) – An Abbott & Costello classic
House on Haunted Hill (1959) – William Castle and Vincent Price? Yes, Please!
Hillbilly’s in a Haunted House (1967) – All Star Cast with Lon Chaney Jr., John Carradine, Basil Rathone, and George Barrows as Anatole the gorilla!
Amityville Horror (1979) – The original, and still the best.
House by the Cemetery (1981) – Fulci on the big screen!

Saturday, Aug. 27th

The Old Dark House (1932) – James Whale classic with Boris Karloff.
House Of Wax (1953) – Another great one with Vincent Price
The Innocents (1961) – One of the best ghost stories ever made…period!
Evil Dead (1981) – Hmmm…this one sounds familiar…
Poltergeist (1982) – Spielberg’s film that still packs a punch

So even if you’re not that close to this place, make it a weekend get-away and make the trip! You will not be disappointed. They have a Facebook event page HERE, or you can check out the drive-in’s website HERE. Hope to see you there!
